Isolation

Tengu recently had it with the outside world. The humans seemed to grow harsher and harsher to the robots as of late and he grew tired of it. Tengu came home one day with dented armor because some children thought it would be funny to throw rocks at him…big ones. He didn’t fight back either, as he didn’t want to make a scene or hurt them. He very well could’ve blown them on top of a building but why bother? He’d be arrested.

Instead, he chose isolation.

He opened the door and closed it behind him, hugging Pluto and sighing, speaking softly. “I love you my darling, but the outside world is cruel to us. We cannot go out there any more. Let’s stay here and be safe in my forest and home, where no human can attack us or harm us. We will be free robots here, not there. The city is where we are slaves.”

He took his mask off and kissed her forehead gently, gently scratching behind her ears and smiling slightly. To live in a beautiful home with his bride, away from the cruel world…he could live with that.

What part of Monsteropolis do you live in? What kind of residence do you live in?

I live in a Gassho (or Minka) house. It has four floors, although the living floor is the first floor. It’s on the outskirts of Monsteropolis…REALLY out there. Way out there. I have to travel a ways to get to the city. I love my home because it’s much like my home in Japan, Gokayama. Surrounded by hills, trees, creeks, and absolutely gorgeous skies. My home makes me feel safe…and keeps me away from the outside world sometimes…

This is the main room, and the center has the hearth. You make a fire to cook your food. Pretty instant way to cook. There are side rooms nearby, like my Washitsu (Japanese-Style room) and the kitchen. Not much in here is modern…maybe the kitchen. *glares at the fridge* …I swear that damn thing wants to start a conspiracy or a rebellion.

When you start up the hearth, of course there’s gonna be smoke. Where does it go? Up there. *points*

The rafters go on for the next three stories. I keep lots of stuff up there, like chests of clothes, decorations, things like that. The smoke helps to dry things out, so I put herbs and meat up there to dry for recipes. Sometimes I sleep up there because it’s nice and warm. Otherwise I sleep in the washitsu (Japanese style room) on tatami mats with some blankets. Or a futon. I’m not telling you where all my sake is hidden. Nope.

A Horse Walks Into a Bar

majestic-centaur-woman:

Honestly, I do not know what is so amusing about a horse coming right into a bar where humans drink their alcoholic beverages…

*Huffs while crossing her arms and shakes her head in disbelief* Believe me, the horse would be confused from being within such a building and end up trashing the entire place before leaving afterwards.

If you walked into a bar, wouldn’t it hurt?

Humans, as our creators, have odd societal habits. What do you think about their society and traditions? (Any society in the world may be discussed!)

Humans have such unique societies…I’ve been all over the earth and there’s always one thing or another that ties all of them together. I may not be a human lover, exactly, but we must save their societies, their traditions. We can’t let such beautiful things die. Even if humans hurt us sometimes…we must treasure their societies, their beliefs, and their traditions, as not all humans are bad…

That being said, I think that humans are very inventive in their societies and traditions…yet…robots have little to no society or tradition. We are bitter because of what humans have done…this needs to be fixed.

The wars may have made several bots bitter. Are you still mad at King/Wily/Light? Why? Conversely, are you mad at Mega Man for defeating you?

Pluto’s fur bristled and she wrinkled her nose sharply.  One could see her swish her tail back and forth like a caged lioness who was just ready to attack the first thing that came by.

“I hold no ill will toward Lord Sunstar, as he is the one who has given me a good life and this opportunity to come to a planet such as Earth.”  She spoke lowly.  She then gave a low feline growl.  ”However, I will never forgive that lowly piece of Earth trash, Albert Wily, for using us.  If I see the Earthling again, I will make sure he is ribbons after I’m done.  Blood-covered, death-scented RIBBONS!”

She then paced back and forth, growling deeper before she let out a roar that startled several tencrows and shook the thatched roof.  ”As for Mega Man…if I see him again, I will take great pleasure in tearing him piece from piece.  No one bests Space Ruler Number 008, Stardroid Pluto without her permission!  NOBODY!”  She growled and snarled, much like a caged lioness.  ”I will destroy him…”

Tengu heard her growling and saw her pacing, frowning a bit…she was having a bad day too…

He decided to cut up some meat and veggies, as well as get some oil ready while he prepared the hearth. As soon as he did that, he approached her and offered her a piece of raw meat, speaking softly. “You wouldn’t want to make Sukiyaki with me, would you?”

The sound of it cooking and the smells of the food always did comfort her and distracted her from her worries, hopefully she could calm down.

Tengu could only sit there, a bit dumbfounded at the question. He snarled lowly. “You think I am still upset at these people? OF COURSE I AM!

He bellowed so loud that the rafters of his house shook and the thatch on his house rattled. He growled and grabbed a sake bottle, sipping it as he started to explain.

“Wily created me…he gave each of us the same speech…each Wily number can attest to this speech…” He closed his eyes as he recited what he recalled.

You are my favorite robot master I have created. You are the most powerful and the best of the best. You will defeat Mega Man once and for all!

He opened his eyes and frowned, taking a sip of sake, continuing. “When Mega Man defeated me…I came back to Wily for repairs…and there he was, working on the next Gen…telling them the exact same speech. That he loved them more than me. And he gave me a new speech…about how I was a failure because I could not destroy Mega Man…”

He hung his head. “…then King took me in. He…he told me that he’d never do what that human did to me.” He growled and chugged his sake angrily.

“But he did it anyway. When Mega Man defeated me for a second time and I came back in shambles, King was already making plans for a new Gen and a new body for himself, mumbling an almost identical speech that Wily did!”

Tengu shook with rage. “I am nobody’s slave. Nobody is my master! And so help me if Mega Man shows his face again around me…” He curled up and started to shake more. He was an emotional mess. He had bottled this up for so many years.

My Compliments to the Kappa (Pluto and Tengu)

Fishing was a favorite past-time of Tengu’s. He smiled slightly as he grabbed a long bamboo stick, stripped it of leaves, and attached a quick-reel onto it, as well as eyelets for the line. He never used the same pole twice…

He grabbed his fishing tool-box, a large basket, and some snacks. Tengu glanced over to Pluto and smiled. “Want to come fishing with me?”

Pluto, of course, wasn’t as coordinated to fishing, as her past-times had mostly been planetary destruction and martial arts.  She would watch Tengu Man with enthralled curiosity, swishing her tail with excitement.  She’d observed him snagging a bamboo stick, and manage to make out of it some sort of device she had never seen before.

Ears perked up in rapt surprise when he offered.  Go fishing?  “O-of course.  But I’ve not used one of those fishing-sticks before.  Is it okay if I use my claws?”  Ears twitched slightly.

He smiled brightly. “As long as you catch fish, I don’t mind. I used to catch fish like a Kingfisher until I watched humans. If you want to try and use a pole, you may. I don’t mind.”

The days of catching fish like a bird were fun…he might try it again…just ramming your head into the water and the satisfaction of feeling your nose pierce a fish? Delightful!

What is your favorite food?

(For those robots who have no mouths/cannot eat, you can answer this: ‘What would you like to eat for the first time?’)

image

I hate to choose favorites, especially when it comes to food. In Japan, food is something that brings the family together. America is unusual to me because children are allowed to eat in their rooms or not at the table, while in Japan the whole family must get together during breakfast and dinner (especially dinner) and share their days. Food brings us together and heals all wounds. It can even bring enemies together and cause brief ceasefires. That’s why it is so hard to choose a favorite. If I had to choose one?

Zaru soba. So cool and fresh. *coos happily* With a quails egg, even better!

image

image Oh, that looks delectable. Have you also tried yakisoba, Tengu Man? image

I’ve eaten all Japanese culinary delights. Yakisoba is my favorite.

How do you sleep? What do you sleep on? (Bed, futon, upside down…details!)

image

I sleep on a futon in my washitsu (Japanese-style room). I pack it away in the morning, bring it out at night. Sometimes if I don’t want to bring it out at night, I sleep in the rafters of the house…

image

The rafters are nice and warm. I often stash many things here too, like herbs to dry or meat to dehydrate into jerky. I have a few boxes worth of stuff up here too. I don’t know which place I like to sleep in better, in my futon or in the rafters.

The rafters are warm? I never knew that! Can I check it out, Tengu? image

Why would I let you in my house again?
